Upcoming Family Activities at HCC

Hi Everyone! Hope your new semester is starting off well.  Hopefully the snow will melt sooner than later.

 We just wanted to update you on some family activities happening on campus in the coming weeks.  First, as Februrary is African American History Month, you can visit the

Hays-Heighe House on campus and see an exhibit from the "Great Blacks in Wax Museum."  Exhibit hours are Tuesdays 1 PM to 3 PM and Fridays 12 - 2 PM.  Special hours on Thursday February 17 will be 11 AM to 1 PM & 5 - 7 PM.  On February 17, you can also come to campus with your family to see "Soul of Langston," a performance by Pin Points Theater about one of America's great writers and poets.  Tickets are free and the show times are at 1 PM and 7 PM.  On February 28, you can bring your family to the exhibit closing reception from 6 to 9 PM.  There will be prizes and refreshments!  For more information:  http://www.harford.edu/owlnet/info/Great_Blacks_in_Wax_Flyer_Final[1].pdf

SECONDLY, on Friday, February 18, you can bring your family to College Life's Family Bingo Night! There will be prizes and games for children.  Doors open at 6:30 and the first game will be played at 7 PM.  The Globe Cafe will be open for dinner or snacks!  For more information, contact egisriel@harford.edu or call 443-412-2628.

The 20th Annual Bunny Breakfast is scheduled for Saturday March 19, 2011 in the Globe Cafe from 9 AM to 11 AM.  You can buy tickets at the cashier's office beginning on March 1st.  Bring your HCC ID card to buy your tickets: $2 for HCC students and each child (2 adults per family).  There is limited seating and no tickets will be sold at the door.  The ticket includes a breakfast buffet, magic show, extreme balloons, face painting, children's crafts and a visit with the bunny!  Sponsored by College Life and the HCC Student Government Association.

And....on April 29, at 7 PM we will be showing a family friendly movie outdoors on the quad in front of the Student Center.  We will let you know the movie as soon as it is selected.   Last Fall, we showed "Toy Story 3" and it was a big hit!
